Get Paid to Review Products UK: Brand Allies Review

Get Paid to Review Products UK: Brand Allies Review

What if you could get your weekly shop partly or completely paid for and then get a little extra money for reviewing the products?

That is essentially how Brand Allies works.

You choose products available through the platform, buy them according to the instructions, try them, submit your evidence and write an honest review. Depending on the opportunity, Brand Allies can reimburse the cost of the product and pay you an additional review bonus.

For example, a £5 product could come with £5 towards the product plus a £1.50 payment for completing the review. You spend £5, receive £6.50 back, and have effectively got the product for free while earning £1.50 for your time.

I’ve been using Brand Allies myself, and this is one of those little money-making opportunities I think is worth knowing about if you’re already doing your grocery shopping anyway.

In this guide, I’ll explain exactly how Brand Allies works, how much you can make, what you actually have to do and whether I think it’s worth trying.

What is Brand Allies?

Brand Allies is a UK platform where shoppers can earn rewards by buying products, trying them and providing genuine feedback.

The platform currently offers several types of opportunities, including product reviews, shopping offers and other tasks. Brand Allies says shoppers can choose a task, purchase the required product or complete the task, submit evidence and then receive their reward. Joining is free.

But the part I’m particularly interested in is the paid product reviews.

These aren’t simply reviews where somebody sends you a free product.

In many cases, you actually buy the product yourself first.

Brand Allies then reimburses the relevant product cost according to the opportunity and pays a separate amount for completing the review.

So you’re effectively getting:

Your product back + a little extra for reviewing it.

And that’s what makes it particularly useful if you’re trying to reduce your grocery spending while making a little extra money.

Can you really get paid to review products in the UK?

Yes.

That’s the basic idea behind Brand Allies’ review opportunities.

You find a product you are interested in, follow the instructions for that particular opportunity, purchase it, try it and provide the required evidence.

Once everything has been approved, you receive the relevant payment.

The exact amount varies depending on the opportunity.

I’ve personally been seeing around £1.50 as the extra payment for completing a product review, although you should always check the individual opportunity because offers can change.

The important thing is that the £1.50 isn’t the product reimbursement.

They’re two separate parts of the reward.

For example

Imagine Brand Allies has a review opportunity for a £5 product.

You could have:

Amount
Product cost£5.00
Product reimbursement£5.00
Review payment£1.50
Total received£6.50
Your effective cost£0
Extra money earned£1.50

So you’ve effectively received a free £5 product and earned £1.50 for completing the review.

That’s a much better way of looking at Brand Allies than simply saying you’re getting “cashback”.

You’re actually getting a product reimbursement plus payment for your time.

How does Brand Allies work?

The process is fairly straightforward, although you do need to follow the instructions for each individual opportunity carefully.

1. Find a product review opportunity

You browse the available opportunities on Brand Allies.

Products and retailers vary, so you won’t necessarily see the same things every day.

I’ve seen opportunities connected with major UK retailers and a mixture of food, household and other everyday products.

The important thing is to look at the opportunity itself before buying anything.

Don’t just see a product you like and buy it.

Book the opportunity first and read the instructions.

2. Check the requirements

This is really important.

Brand Allies opportunities can have specific requirements about:

  • where you buy the product
  • which exact product or size you buy
  • how you purchase it
  • when you need to buy it
  • what evidence you need
  • where you need to leave your

Don’t assume that buying the right product is enough.

You need to complete the whole task correctly to receive the reward.

3. Buy the product

You then purchase the product according to the instructions.

Depending on the opportunity, this can involve online shopping, Click & Collect or other specified purchasing methods.

The exact requirements can vary, so always check the individual listing.

4. Try the product

This is where the “review” part comes in.

You’re expected to genuinely use or try the product before reviewing it.

You’re not being paid to pretend you like something.

You’re being paid to provide genuine feedback based on your experience.

5. Leave your review

You’ll then need to complete the required review.

This should be your own honest opinion.

If you loved the product, say so.

If you didn’t like it, say that.

The point is to provide genuine feedback rather than writing a fake five-star review simply because you’re being rewarded.

Brand Allies describes its reviews as genuine feedback from real shoppers.

6. Submit your evidence

You’ll normally need to provide evidence that you’ve completed the task correctly.

This can include things such as:

  • your receipt
  • a photo of the product
  • a selfie with the product
  • proof that you’ve posted your review
  • other evidence requested by the individual opportunity

Again, read the instructions before you start.

This is one of the biggest things I’d recommend if you’re new to Brand Allies.

7. Get paid

Once your submission has been checked and approved, the reward is added to your Brand Allies account and can then be withdrawn according to the platform’s current payment process.

Brand Allies says shoppers receive their reward after submitting the required evidence.

Some recent customer reviews also report quick approval and payment, although individual experiences will obviously vary.

How much can you make with Brand Allies?

This is where I think it’s important to be realistic.

Brand Allies isn’t going to replace your salary.

The review payment can be relatively small — around £1.50 for some of the opportunities I’ve seen.

But you’re also getting the product reimbursed.

So the value isn’t just the £1.50.

For example:

One £5 review

You spend £5.

You receive:

  • £5 product reimbursement
  • £1.50 review payment

That’s £6.50 back.

Your £5 product has effectively cost you nothing and you’ve made £1.50.

Ten £5 reviews

If you completed ten opportunities with the same £5 reimbursement and £1.50 review payment:

  • £50 of products reimbursed
  • £15 review payments
  • £65 received in total

But your actual additional cash earnings are £15.

The £50 isn’t £50 profit — it’s money being returned to cover the products you purchased.

That’s an important distinction.

Is Brand Allies free?

Yes, Brand Allies currently says it is free to join.

You don’t need to pay a membership fee to access the platform.

However, you may need to spend your own money upfront when completing a product review because you’re buying the product before receiving the reimbursement.

That means you need enough money available to make the purchase in the first place.

I wouldn’t recommend putting a Brand Allies purchase on a credit card or borrowing money just to complete an opportunity.

Ideally, choose products you can comfortably pay for and wait for the reimbursement.

Is Brand Allies actually worth it?

For me, yes — if you use it selectively.

I wouldn’t treat it as a serious standalone income stream.

I’d treat it as a combination of:

free/discounted products + small amounts of extra cash.

And that can be surprisingly useful when you’re trying to reduce the cost of your grocery shopping.

If you’re going to buy food or household products anyway, getting the cost reimbursed and receiving an extra £1.50 for reviewing them can make a lot of sense.

The trick is not to buy things simply because they’re available.

Choose products you actually want

This is probably my biggest tip.

Don’t think:

“I’m getting £1.50, so I’ll buy it.”

Think:

“Would I actually use this product if I wasn’t getting paid?”

If the answer is no, it might not be worth the hassle.

A “free” product you don’t want is still a product you have to store, use or get rid of.

Brand Allies review opportunities can go quickly

One downside is that popular opportunities can disappear quickly.

Recent customer feedback suggests some opportunities are claimed very quickly, and Brand Allies itself has acknowledged that popular campaigns can fill up fast.

So don’t be surprised if you log in and see something you want, only to find it’s already gone.

That doesn’t necessarily mean Brand Allies isn’t worth using.

It just means you shouldn’t rely on being able to claim a particular product every day.

New opportunities can also appear as campaigns are added or topped up.

My advice?

Check regularly rather than expecting every visit to result in a job.

Do you need a huge social media following?

No.

Brand Allies isn’t the same thing as influencer marketing.

You’re not being paid because you have 10,000 Instagram followers.

The opportunities are based around buying, trying and reviewing products.

That makes it particularly interesting if you’re simply looking for a way to make a little extra money from things you’re already buying.

You don’t need to be an influencer to start.

Do Brand Allies reviews have to be positive?

No — and they shouldn’t be.

If you’re being asked to provide a genuine product review, your review should reflect your actual experience.

If you loved the product, explain why.

If you didn’t, be honest about that.

Don’t write a glowing review just because you’re being reimbursed.

This is also why I wouldn’t describe Brand Allies as “getting paid to leave five-star reviews”.

It’s better described as getting rewarded for trying products and providing genuine feedback.

That distinction matters.

What products can you review?

The products available change over time.

Depending on current campaigns, you may find opportunities for things such as:

  • groceries
  • snacks
  • drinks
  • household products
  • toiletries
  • beauty products
  • health and wellbeing products
  • cleaning products
  • products sold through major supermarkets
  • products sold online

The exact products, retailers and reimbursement amounts will depend on what’s available when you log in.

That’s part of the appeal for me because you can simply look at what’s available and decide whether anything is useful.

My Brand Allies tips for getting the most from it

If you decide to try Brand Allies, these are the things I’d recommend.

1. Read the instructions before buying

Don’t buy first and check the requirements afterwards.

That’s an easy way to make an expensive mistake.

2. Check the exact product

Make sure you’ve selected the correct:

  • brand
  • flavour
  • size
  • quantity
  • retailer

If the opportunity specifies something, assume it matters.

3. Keep your receipt

Don’t throw your receipt away until the whole task has been completed and approved.

4. Take your evidence as you go

If you need a photograph, receipt or selfie, do it when you’re completing the task rather than trying to remember everything later.

5. Only choose products you’ll actually use

This is especially important with groceries.

A product isn’t automatically a bargain just because you’re getting money back.

6. Look at the total reward

Remember that the product reimbursement isn’t your profit.

The extra review payment is the part you’re actually earning for your time.

7. Don’t buy something you can’t comfortably afford upfront

Reimbursement comes later.

Make sure you can comfortably cover the initial purchase.

8. Don’t rely on one platform

This is the biggest lesson I’ve learned from making money online.

A few pounds here and there from one app can be useful.

But combining lots of small income streams is where things start getting more interesting.

That’s why I include Brand Allies alongside surveys, cashback, selling, affiliate marketing and other side hustles on Money with Morgan.

Brand Allies pros and cons

Pros

✔ Free to join

You don’t need to pay a membership fee.

✔ Products can effectively be free

When the product contribution covers the purchase price, you get the product without ultimately paying for it.

✔ You can earn extra on top

The review payment means you’re not just getting the product reimbursed.

✔ Lots of everyday products

Opportunities can include food and household purchases rather than only specialist products.

✔ Flexible

You can choose the opportunities that suit you.

✔ No huge audience required

You don’t need to be an influencer to participate.

Cons

✘ You may have to pay upfront

You purchase the product before receiving your reimbursement.

✘ Opportunities can disappear quickly

Popular products can be claimed fast.

✘ You have to follow the instructions

Missing evidence or buying the wrong product can mean the task isn’t completed correctly.

✘ The review payments are small

£1.50 is useful, but you’re not going to get rich from the review payment alone.

✘ Not every product will be useful to you

You still need to be selective.

Is Brand Allies legit?

Based on my own experience using it, yes, I consider Brand Allies a legitimate way to save money on products and earn small amounts for completing reviews.

It’s also an established UK platform with a current shopper programme, and its website explains the process of choosing tasks, purchasing products, submitting evidence and receiving rewards.

There are also current independent customer reviews reporting successful payments and positive experiences, although there are some negative reviews too — particularly around how quickly popular opportunities can be claimed.

As with any money-making platform, I’d recommend starting small and making sure you understand how it works before committing to lots of opportunities.

Brand Allies vs other ways to make money from home

Brand Allies is just one of the ways I use to make or save money.

It’s particularly useful because it combines saving money with a small amount of extra income.

But it works even better as part of a bigger strategy.

For example, you could combine:

  • Brand Allies for free or discounted products
  • paid surveys for extra cash
  • cashback apps for money back on purchases
  • Vinted for selling unwanted items
  • Social Tip for paid social content opportunities
  • affiliate marketing through a blog
  • UGC for brands
  • freelance work
  • matched betting if it’s something you’re comfortable with and understand

Frequently asked questions

Can you really get paid to review products in the UK?

Yes. Brand Allies offers opportunities where shoppers purchase products, try them and provide feedback in return for a reward. Some review opportunities include reimbursement for the product plus a separate payment for completing the review.

Does Brand Allies give you free products?

Some opportunities can effectively make a product free because the product contribution covers the purchase price. You normally need to purchase the product first and complete all the required steps before receiving the reimbursement.

How much does Brand Allies pay?

It varies by opportunity. I’ve personally seen review payments of around £1.50 in addition to the product reimbursement. Always check the individual opportunity for the current reward.

Do Brand Allies reimburse the product?

For eligible review opportunities, Brand Allies can provide a contribution towards the product cost. The exact amount and requirements depend on the opportunity.

Is Brand Allies free to join?

Yes. Brand Allies currently states that joining its shopper community is free.

Do you need followers to use Brand Allies?

No. Brand Allies isn’t an influencer platform. The opportunities are based around shopping, trying products and completing the required tasks.

Can you make money with Brand Allies?

Yes, but I’d think of it as a small extra-income and money-saving opportunity, rather than a way to make a full-time income.

The review payment is the actual extra cash you earn, while the product reimbursement offsets the money you spent buying the product.

Is Brand Allies worth it?

I think it can be, particularly if you choose products you’d genuinely use anyway.

For me, the combination of getting the product reimbursed and receiving a little extra for completing the review makes it more interesting than ordinary cashback.

But you need to value your time and follow the instructions carefully.

Final thoughts

If you’ve been searching for ways to get paid to review products in the UK, Brand Allies is definitely one I’d put on your list to investigate.

The reason I like it isn’t because you can make huge amounts of money from £1.50 review payments.

You can’t.

It’s because you’re potentially getting something useful back as well as the payment.

If you spend £5 on a product, receive £5 back and another £1.50 for reviewing it, you’ve got a free product and £1.50 extra.

Do that occasionally alongside other money-making and money-saving methods, and those little wins can add up.

For me, that’s what making money from home is really about.

Not finding one magical app that makes you rich.

It’s finding lots of realistic opportunities that fit around your life and using the ones that are actually worth your time.
